VERTICAL STRIPES
While horizontal stripes can tend to widen the midsection, stripes that go straight up and down can tend to elongate the figure, creating sleek lines on the body. Picking up a pair of high waisted striped shorts as seen above, a tapered blouse, or even a wrap dress (like Queen Bey is wearing below) can be a classic, fool proof way to ensure your silhouette is being showcased in its best light. WRAP DRESSES
Whenever I’m virtually styling a client, a wrap dress is one of my go to styles because I’ve found that it flatters every woman’s silhouette! It’s the ultimate secret weapon for when you’re weight may be fluctuating, or when you want to eat comfortably at an event and still want to confidently take pictures after! (IYKYK)

The extra overlay of fabric on a wrap dress accentuates the waist line and emphasizes the hip area, making it universally appealing. However, the key to a great wrap dress is quality fabrication. A LINE SHORTS
A line shorts are my go-to summer silhouette lately because they typically widen at the widest part of your thigh, creating the appearance of a small waistline. I recently did a haul specifically for this style of shorts because quarantine snacking last year has caught up with ya girl and I need some shorts this summer that I can depend on!

Pro tip: if you’re in between sizes at the moment, opt for a pair with an elastic waistband to give you comfort and style all at once!
